Sandy Hill Kennels offers professional grooming services for dogs and cats seven (7) days a week!

Basic Grooming Services

Bathing/Grooming Our basic bathing/grooming services include two baths (one for coat, one for skin), trimming/grooming if required or requested, nails trimmed, ears cleaned, and ear hairs pulled (if requested), and accessory (bandanna or bow).

Boarder's Touch-Up Package
Includes a touch-up brushing, fresh 'n clean cologne, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, nail trim, and accessory (bandanna or bow). (Does not include a bath or groom.)

Premium Grooming Services

Shed-less Treatment Fantastic mint smelling shampoo that is great for skin and coat health, used to remove under coat along with vigorous use of de-shedding tools. (Highly recommended for double coated breeds.)

Strawberry Milk Skin Treatment This is a cooling, soothing treatment for dry, flaky, irritated or sensitive skin with a spa like strawberry aroma. (Recommended for the always itchy dog.)

Massage Therapy Treatment Fifteen minute massage incorporated with warm water and a mint scented shampoo to sooth sore joints. Performed in addition to the bath and temporarily relieves pain and promotes mobility. (Recommended for older dogs.)

Puppy's First Groom For puppies up to six months of age and 30 pounds . Includes bath, introduction to grooming of face, pads, sanitary area, nails, and ear cleaning.

Our Groomers

Heidi McGeary has worked in the pet care industry since 2001. She started at a kennel in Erie, and while living in Erie, Heidi volunteered at the Hooved Animal Rescue and Because You Care Rescue Facilities. In addition, Heidi fostered Grey Hounds for the Grey Save of Northwestern PA organization. After moving to Pittsburgh, Heidi joined the Sandy Hill Kennels crew in 2005. Heidi has been a great addition to our grooming staff and is currently head groomer at Sandy Hill Kennels.

Brittany Miller has always had a special place for animals in her heart. Her family bred, raised and trained dogs and horses on their farms in Florida and California. She most especially enjoyed grooming. So, she enrolled in a professional grooming school in California specializing in hand scissoring and sport clips. As part of her grooming school experience in San Diego, she had the opportunity to groom the dogs that starred in the animal shows at Sea World. For family reasons, Brittany moved to Pittsburgh in 2009 and started working at Sandy Hill Kennels. As a wife and mother, she really enjoys the family atmosphere at Sandy Hill Kennels. We are especially pleased to have someone with Brittany's experience and grooming knowledge join the Sandy Hill Kennel's family.

Nikole Bendick joined the Sandy Hill Kennels staff in the fall of 2009 after she moved to Mars, PA in the summer from Washington State. Nikole has been working in the pet care industry since 2001. She has a broad range of experience working in vet clinics, boarding and grooming facilities, and pet retail stores. She began groomer training at Petsmart in 2005 and furthered her grooming experience at other Petsmart and grooming facilities. We are excited to have Nikole as part of our team at Sandy Hill Kennels.
